Steve Boothe
Steve's interest in photography started while studying Fine Arts at Penn State. He originally used photographs as source material for paintings, but it quickly spun off into alternate directions. Steve would wander the streets around State College, Altoona, and Pittsburgh. Taking his time and letting the journey lead wherever it may, Steve would follow the crowds hurrying from destination to destination. Their focus only on the task of reaching that next location. He would follow the crowd, but at a much slower pace, spending the time to focus my attention to the city streets that so many fled through. Steve wanted to find those sections of the city and surrounding area that so many people lived in, but paid scant attention. By photographing them, it was a way to refocus the viewers’ normal day to day tunnel vision and let them see what they have glanced at many times before.
